California AB1802

What is AB1802?

California Assembly Bill 1802, passed in 2006, provides funding for standards-aligned supplemental materials for English learners. Specifically, it allocates:

"Thirty million dollars ($30,000,000) on a one-time basis to provide supplemental instructional materials specifically for English learners in kindergarten and grades 1 to 12, inclusive. The purpose of these materials will be to accelerate pupils as rapidly as possible towards grade level proficiency. The funds shall be used to purchase supplemental materials that are designed to help English learners become proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English." More...
