President and Chief Executive Officer
Teacher Created Materials
As founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Huntington Beach based Teacher Created Materials, an educational publishing company, Rachelle Cracchiolo continues to pursue her passion for education. From humble beginnings in 1976, this now incorporated company is proud to provide quality supplemental resources for teachers throughout the United States and around the world.
Previously, as an elementary school teacher at Fountain Valley School District in Fountain Valley, California for nine years, Ms. Cracchiolo taught Kindergarten through sixth grade and taught in the District’s gifted and talented program.
Graduating from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors degree in Psychology, Ms. Cracchiolo continued on to earn her Masters in Science in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.
Ms. Cracchiolo has authored several books including co-authoring the company’s very first publication, Quick Fun Art, and published one of the company’s first best sellers, My Body, a breakthrough that was featured in Life Magazine in 1991 and in the hit movie Kindergarten Cop in 1990.
In addition to her roles as business owner, author, and former educator, Ms. Cracchiolo currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Education Publishers, and as a member of the Advancement Board for the College of Education at California State University, Fullerton. In 2006, she served on the EdNET Industry Advisory Board, and previously served on the Advisory Board for Quality Education Data, as well as the Leadership Council Advisory Board for the College of Education at California State University, Fullerton. Serving on the Ed Tech Committee and Manufacturers Council from 1998–2001, she was recognized and awarded the Leadership and Distinguished Service Award by the National School Supply and Equipment Association.
Honored for her professional and personal achievements, Ms Cracchiolo was presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor bestowed upon university alumni, from the 2006 Vision & Visionaries Alumni Association of California State University, Fullerton. She was also nominated for the 12th Annual Woman in Business Award in 2006, and awarded Contractor of the Year for 2003–2004 by the Community Rehabilitation Industry Long Beach, California.
Playing an active role in education has always been and will continue to be an important goal for Ms. Cracchiolo. From teaching piano and hula lessons in her family home while in high school, to the role of President and CEO of Teacher Created Materials, she continues to strive for excellence in education.
