Sales Support Representative

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of experience

Related Work Experience: 3-5 years in Customer Service or Professional Administration.

Summary

The Sales Support Representative is responsible to support Sales Representatives, handle customer service calls, enter Purchase Order information and handle tasks as necessary to make sure the internal sales processes run as smooth as possible.

General Competencies:

  • Planning and Organizing: Establishing courses of action for self and/or others to ensure that work is completed efficiently in light of the strategies and destination of the department and/or organization.
  • Attention to Detail: Has a process in place to ensure accuracy and presentation of work; consistently meets and beats deadlines; Ensures that other s work is up to company standard; recognizes systemic issues and takes action.
  • Acting with Integrity: Maintaining a commitment to honesty; models social, ethical, and organizational values; firmly adhering to codes of conduct and ethical principles.
  • Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.
  • Contributing to Team Success: Explores opportunities for relationship, identifies and anticipates relationship needs; Develops and maintains credibility; Develops and maintains open lines of communication.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • General administrative support: Assist with fax distribution as needed. Complete special projects as requested.
  • Telephone coverage: Providing phone coverage as a second level priority agent.
  • Order Entry: Enter Purchase Orders accurately and efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Sales Rep Support: Supporting designated Sales Representatives in the following areas:
  • Handle sample requests
  • Do order and market research as needed
  • Be conduit for rep at Corporate Headquarters
  • Assist rep when they are traveling
  • Support for tradeshows and events within the reps territory
  • General support
  • Update information as needed in SalesForce
  • Web customer service emails: Act as backup for customer service emails – from web and elsewhere.
  • Special Orders: Process larger, more complicated orders – work with Rep/Regional on special proposals, large/key account orders and drop ship orders.
  • Customer Contact: Handle a variety of customer calls from product questions to customer service issues.
  • Rep Contracts/Files: Update Rep contracts once a year, maintain files on Reps/Territories for paperwork such as Sole Source documents, Adoptions, Legal Compliance, permissions, etc.
  • Product Knowledge: Must review and be familiar with all products to be able to answer Customer and Rep questions.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively interact with customers on many different situations and provide resolution with minimal support
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to effectively support sales reps with minimal direction
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently enter information into computer applications
  • Knowledge of SalesForce strongly desired, but not essential
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills.

Part-Time/Other Positions

Freelance Spanish Proofreader

Specific Responsibilities:

Must proofread educational materials in Spanish in all content areas including language arts, math, science, and technology. Must possess strong grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills. Potential proofreaders should also be able to proofread for word choice, layout, and consistency, while following the TCM style across product lines. All applicants must take a written proofreading test and be able to pick up projects at the main TCM office in Huntington Beach.

Freelance Spanish Voice Talent

Specific Responsibilities:

Must be a native speaker of Spanish with good pronunciation, tone, and expression. Must be able to audition with sample audio from one of TCM’s products at the Huntington Beach main TCM office. Willing to work flexible hours. Experience doing voice work in Spanish is a plus.

Freelance Audio Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Records/edits/mixes audio tracks for audio books and songs.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in ProTools LE Software
  • Proficient in recording/editing/mixing audio tracks
  • Able to provide samples upon request
  • Knowing voice talent to use for audio books and educational songs is a plus
  • Experience as a sound engineer is a plus

Presenters/Trainers

We are looking for experienced, engaging educators to provide professional development training to teachers and administrators nationwide and internationally. This is a part-time, per diem position. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years classroom teaching experience as well as extensive experience in preparing and delivering motivating and pedagogically-sound professional development. We are looking for trainers for multiple grade levels and content areas as well as those who can provide one-on-one coaching and modeling. Those with flexibility in their schedules for travel will be given priority. Please submit the following to presenters@teachercreatedmaterials.com:

Freelance Science Writer

The writer will help develop and write standards-based science lessons, especially for elementary grade levels. Prior teaching experience in an elementary or middle school with content area emphasis in science is preferred. Must be knowledgeable of current educational trends in the science content area. Prior editorial/writing experience a plus. Fax or email resume detailing teaching experience and educational background and writing sample.

Freelance Copyeditors/Proofreaders

Teacher Created Materials is looking for freelance copyeditors/proofreaders for educational manuscripts. Applicants must:

  • possess strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
  • be able to follow company style for consistency across product lines.
  • read for style, usage, and clarity.
  • be proficient in Microsoft Word and have a working knowledge of Quark or InDesign.

We need freelance copyeditors/proofreaders willing to proofread educational manuscripts in all content areas including language arts, math, science, social studies, and technology. 2+ years experience in copyediting or proofreading is preferred.
