Downloading Your eBooks

Downloading Your Purchase
After you have submitted your order we will confirm your order in the form of a pop-up screen called a 'Smart Receipt'. You will then be ready to download your purchase. To begin downloading click on 'Download Item Now'. Your file will then begin downloading as a PDF file. In order to view PDF files, your computer needs a copy of Acrobat Reader installed on it. Acrobat Reader is free from Adobe, and can be downloaded safely and installed quickly on your machine. This free program will enable you to view and print any PDF file. Most PC's running Window operating systems do not come with Acrobat Reader installed. Most newer Macintosh systems come with Acrobat Reader installed. We have found that Acrobat Reader 4.0 has difficulty displaying and/or printing small portions of a few of our books. (The books still print out perfectly, but portions are not viewable on the screen.) Therefore, we recommend that you use Acrobat Reader 5.0 or newer when downloading.

When your file has completed downloading it will appear on the screen as a PDF file. It is important to save the file now. Under the File menu bar scroll down to "Save As". In order to be able to read the file after you have saved it be sure to save the file as a "Source" file.

You will also receive an e-mail message from Teacher Created Materials confirming your order and giving you a website address to access for downloading your purchase. To access the site log-on with your Internet browser and enter the URL provided in the email. After you have entered your Username and Password you will be shown a screen detailing each of your purchases. To begin downloading simply click on "Access Download".

Problems while downloading (Computer Crash)
If your computer crashes or the power goes out simply restart your computer and return to the website URL provided by email from Teacher Created Materials. Enter your Username and Password and begin your download again. You have seven days to download your order from the time of purchase.

Download Times
The time it takes for your product order to download depends on the speed of your modem and the size of the file you are downloading. Listed below are approximate download times depending on your modem.

If you would like to know how large a file is check the "Product Description Page" of the product. Listed on this page will be the size of the file. Listed below are the approximate download times for a 1MB file:

  • 56K Modem: 2.5 minutes
  • 128K ISDN: 75 seconds
  • DSL, Cable, T1, etc.: 5 seconds

Once you have completed your order you will be able to begin downloading the material immediately after you have received your order confirmation (Smart Receipt).

Downloading Items Separately or Together
If you order more than one item you will have to download them separately. However, this is very simple to do because you will be downloading the files from the same location.
