TCM3585-Exploring History: Pioneers
Simulate being pioneers in four travel groups: Santa Fe Searchers, Freedom Trail Finders, California Seekers, and Oregon Bound Emigrants. Plot your own trail, consider reasons for your family to travel west, determine which supplies to bring, and choose a wagon master. While on the trail, experiment with different trail recipes, explore the pioneer illnesses, learn about the relationship between pioneers and American Indians, develop ways to entertain your group, and
research the landmarks along the way. Upon arrival build homes, stores, and churches. Finally, create a guidebook that will help future pioneers travel west. The bonus items are two 34" x 22" full-color posters: The Pioneers: Life on the Trail and Pioneer Trails.
