TCM3944-Primary Sources: Communities Around the World

Help all students understand and appreciate distinct cultures from around the world. Use primary sources, photographs, and maps to exercise critical thinking skills and prepare students for standardized tests. Lessons include activities designed to introduce and improve geography skills.

The 12 Communities covered are: Australia, Brazil, China, Dominican Republic, India, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Mali, Mexico, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.

Each kit includes:

• 12 Primary Source Documents
• 12 Photo Cards each containing a photograph, related map, and map skills activity
• Teacher's Guide with background information and a lesson for each of the 12 communities
• 20 Student Guided Practice Books with general information about each community; full color copies of the 12 documents and 12 photographs as well as 24 maps; and student-directed activities related to the primary sources
• Test preparation with constructed-response and document-based questions
