Text Cards

Spark student curiosity with high-interest informational Text Cards featuring TIME FOR KIDS® content. Every kit has 80 text cards, 40 grade-level text cards and 40 below-grade-level text cards each for mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies. Each card has been created to teach two specific reading comprehension skills and strategies.

The front of the cards contain a variety of informational text types that students typically encounter within a given content area. The back of the cards provide discussion questions for before, during, and after reading; skill focus activities, key vocabulary, and a writing extension activity.

Management Book

The Management Book provides the research base for the program, correlation to standards and scope and sequence, overview of the program and its components, parent support letters, an appendix containing indexes of charts, a references cited list, and a list of additional reading resources.

The Assessment Book contains three main sections:

  • Comprehension Test: includes a pre-test and post-test that can be used as a benchmark, or starting point for students, and then can be used to evaluate what was learned at the end of the year.
  • Assessments for Planning Instruction: helps determine what students already know about comprehension and what teachers need to focus their instruction on to help students succeed.
  • Assessments to Monitor Growth: provides teachers with a variety of assessments, divided by skill/strategy to help monitor students' progress throughout the year.
