New Editor-in-Chief named at Teacher Created Materials

HUNTINGTON BEACH -- August 31, 2009 -- Teacher Created Materials (TCM), an educational publisher, announced today the promotion of Dona Rice to Editor-in-Chief. Dona replaces Sharon Coan who will assume the role of Past Editor-in-Chief, serving as part of the company's strategic team and focusing on the editorial direction of the company.

Dona brings over 19 years of extensive management experience in marketing, advertising, and editorial to her new position. She has traveled the country for TCM, working with school districts on product implementations and listening to the needs of educators.

Dona was instrumental in the launch of TCM's science division, and has worked with a variety of TCM's professional partners including TIME For Kids®, Sally Ride Science™, and The Future's Channel®. Dona originated, directed, managed, authored, and edited a broad range of projects across the content areas including two of TCM's three recipients of the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) Golden Lamp Award.

Prior to joining TCM, Dona taught in a variety of environments from Pre-K to high school, specializing in language arts, speech, and drama.

Dona earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, and studied at the prestigious Bay Area Writing Project at UC Berkeley.
