Description:

This seminar will help you develop a reading program with tons of teaching strategies that help students gain essential comprehension, phonics, and word recognition skills.

The learning environment addressed will be one of BALANCE, using the Four Part Approach of 1) Working with Words 2) Guided Reading 3) Writing Workshop and 4) Self-Selected Reading. Strategies for using children's literature to teach and reinforce skills will also be an important component of the seminar.

University Credit:
One graduate-level (separate follow-up, professional growth) credit. Additional $62.00 fee required, payment due at the seminar. Details for direct enrollment, with Chapman University (CA), available at the seminar. Follow-up practicum projects require 15 hours. Acceptable where local district approves and applicable to state licensure where such activities are approved.
