TIME For Kids Nonfiction Reading & Writing for Summer School, After School, and Other Special Programs: More Information

These all-inclusive kits are just right for intervention programs. The teacher resources make the preparation easy, and the high-interest activities generate the motivation students need to make measurable progress.

  • Reinforce content area reading by focusing on skills such as main idea, summarizing and paraphrasing, drawing conclusions, point of view, and prior knowledge/making connections.
  • Help students become confident, competent writers by focusing on skills such as the five W's and H, strong paragraphs, persuasive essays, graphic organizers, and response to literature.
  • Introduce students to four key nonfiction genres: narrative, expository, persuasive, and visual presentation.
  • Address Reading First goals with lessons that cover word study (from phonemic awareness and phonics to structural analysis), vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Motivate students whose reading levels range from emergent through Grade 5 with high-interest reading materials.
  • Meet the needs of ELL students with nonfiction content suitable for students who are reading below grade level.
  • Enjoy the ease of using a complete, ready-to-implement program.
