Suggests management tips and presents easy-to-follow implementation plans for 4-week, 6-week, 8-week, or ongoing programs. Includes reading and writing lessons for each activity card.

CD-ROM
Contains PDFs (printable files) for the activity cards, templates for graphic organizers, and templates for letters to parents.
20 Student Activity Cards:
5 narrative, 5 expository, 5 persuasive, and 5 visual presentation. For whole group instruction, each kit provides transparencies or large size activity cards.
20 Reading Lessons
Each uses an activity card's article to teach a core reading skill. The lesson includes a vocabulary list, a pre-reading activity, a skill focus, post-reading activities, an assessment section, and an extension option.
20 Writing Lessons
Each uses an activity card's article to teach a writing skill. The lesson follows the steps of the writing process. It also includes an assessment section and extension activities for grammar and journal writing.
