Wendy Conklin, M.A., Author
Presenter, Applying Differentiation Strategies
Wendy Conklin is an award-winning author, editor, educational consultant, and teacher. She currently edits curriculum materials for Teacher Created Materials, has authored, and edited over 40 educational books, some of which have won such honors as the AEP Golden Lamp Award, and Learning Magazine Teachers’ Choice Award.
Wendy has taught in elementary and middle school, gifted pullout classes, Saturday enrichment classes, and online graduate courses for Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development. She developed curriculum for the university’s Center for Talent Development and served as coordinator to the Saturday enrichment program. In addition, Wendy has presented at various conferences including the National Association for Gifted Children, and the National Curriculum Network Conference among others.
Emily R. Smith, M.A.Ed.
Presenter, Applying Differentiation Strategies
Currently as executive editorial director for Teacher Created Materials, Emily Smith directs the social studies and mathematics divisions. She has edited, authored, and managed over 100 supplemental education products. In addition, she designs and edits curriculum materials for technology, and science. Emily is responsible for several product achievements including the AEP Golden Lamp Award, AEP Distinguished Achievement Awards, and Learning Magazine Teachers’ Choice Awards, among others.
As a presenter, she instructs educators on best practices at schools and national and regional conferences. Previously, Emily has taught regular and gifted fifth graders and has instructed in the Summer/Saturday Enrichment Program at the College of William and Mary in Virginia.
