Dede Dodds, M.A.Ed.
Presenter, Exploring Nonfiction
Currently, as a teacher trainer and consultant, Dede Dodds conducts numerous workshops and training sessions for thousands of teachers and administrators nationally. She brings with her over 25 years of experience as a classroom teacher covering many topics including literacy, learning centers, mathematics, classroom management, successful teaching strategies, and differentiation instruction. As a former instructor at the university level, she focused on teaching strategies with Integrating Literature into Curriculum, and Science Methods at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, California. Dede has co-authored numerous books focusing on early childhood learning, literacy centers, parent involvement, and classroom management.
Dede received her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California, and received her B.A. in Education from Purdue University.
Lori Kamola, M.S.Ed.
Presenter, Exploring Nonfiction
Lori Kamola is an Editorial Director with Teacher Created Materials, responsible for managing the development of curriculum products and professional development resources. She has developed many award-winning resources particularly in the area of language arts and is also a contributing author of Assessing Comprehension Thinking Strategies, Exploring Nonfiction: A Differentiated Content-Area Reading Program, and other reading comprehension resources. Prior to working at Teacher Created Materials, Lori taught at the elementary level for several years and later served as a reading coach for Grades K–6. She has presented for the International Reading Association, the National Staff Development Council, and other trade shows on content literacy connections and assessment in language arts.
Lori received a Masters Degree and Reading Specialist Credential from California State University Fullerton, Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Multiple Subject and Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development Credential at St. Mary’s College.
