Thank You for Dreaming Big

As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, we wanted to thank you for all of the amazing work that you do. We know that being a teacher is one of the hardest and most rewarding careers ever, and that building up the dreams of your students is what it’s all about. So, here’s a poem written just for you.

Dreaming Big

They dream of being astronauts and flying to the stars,

Or being engineers and building racing cars.

They dream of being musicians and playing on a stage,

Or being writers and crafting stories on a page.

They dream of being doctors and helping the sick get well,

or being business folks with skills and goods to sell.

They dream of being firefighters and putting out the flames,

Or being programmers and designing video games.

They dream of being lawyers and helping people keep the laws,

Or being performers and listening to applause.

They dream of being veterinarians and helping animals each day,

Or being florists and making colorful bouquets.

They dream of being accountants and adding numbers in a row,

Or being scientists and discovering all there is to know.

They dream of being athletes and scoring points and goals and runs,

Or being bakers and baking cakes and breads and buns.

They dream of being farmers and working on the land,

Or being artists and making things by hand.

I dream of helping children become all that they can be,

And so I think to be a teacher is the perfect thing for me.
