We want your students to tell us what nonfiction book we should publish next.

Do your students have a favorite author or hero but have a hard time finding books about them?

Do your students love learning about insects but you can’t find a book about the one they find most interesting?

If you answered yes to either of those questions, then this is the contest for you and your students!

To enter, follow these steps:

  1. Download the entry form and waiver here.
  2. Work with your students to write a persuasive letter that shares the idea of a nonfiction book that Teacher Created Materials should publish. Here is a lesson plan you can use to help your students write a letter. Letters can be written:
    • as a shared writing experience from the whole class.
    • by small groups of students in your class.
    • by every single student in your class.
  3. Select one letter to represent your class and submit it!
  4. Mail that letter along with your completed entry form and waiver to the following address:

Grand Prize

One grand-prize winner will be selected to have his/her book idea published by Teacher Created Materials and will receive a Classroom Library from our Bookroom Grade-Level Collections for their classroom. (Value up to $799)
