Erika Thulin Dawes, Ed.D. is Associate Professor of Language and Literacy at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, where she teaches courses in the teaching of writing, reading methods, and children’s literature. Her scholarly interests include social contexts for literacy learning, early childhood and family literacy, and children’s literature in the classroom. Dr. Thulin Dawes is a regular presenter at the national and regional levels, blogs about children’s books, and is a co-author of Learning to Write with Purpose: Effective Instruction in Grades 4-8.
