This series is excellent for motivating young readers! The children are able to convey meaning and excitement using their voices, facial expressions and energy. The entire class becomes engaged in the story and follows along while their classmates act out the scenes. This series increases fluency as the students become completely engaged in the characters and the setting. There are many ways to embellish the fun and informative text with props and simple costume pieces. These would make a great addition to a school library or reading specialist’s collection.

The Building Fluency through Reader’s Theatre kits and resources provided our students and staff with instructional tools to tap into our student’s background and use it as an asset for learning. The materials served as a perfect supplement to our units of study, specifically our first module on Immigration. It was great to see how our teachers integrated language and content on a relevant topic to enhance our student language and literacy skills.

…The best thing we can give our students is the keys to unlocking the future. They see many troubling aspects of life due to their home environments and disabilities. They need to feel like a success and that reading is the key to unlocking those doors. Keep up the wonderful work of providing excellent materials for teachers and students.
