    Sharlene Turner, B.Ed

    Sharlene Turner is a full-time Education Consultant with Teacher Created Materials, where she partners with schools and districts to support effective instructional practices, teacher development, and equitable learning environments. With over 20 years in education, Sharlene brings deep expertise in curriculum implementation, professional learning, and student-centered strategies, particularly in mathematics instruction. Prior to joining TCM, Sharlene served as Vice Principal of Elementary at the British School of Panama, where she led teaching and learning initiatives and guided the successful induction of newly qualified teachers. As an elementary math specialist, she spearheaded the rollout of a comprehensive, school-wide math curriculum. She also contributed to the Professional Association of International Schools, collaborating to raise teaching standards across international schools in Panama. Sharlene’s diverse experience spans inner-city London, the United States, and Latin America. Her commitment to improving outcomes for disadvantaged students is also reflected in her authorship of a parenting curriculum designed to foster family engagement and boost academic success. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for inclusive instructional practices and has supported multilingual learners across a variety of educational contexts. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Roehampton University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the Institute of Education in London. Sharlene continues to champion equity in math education and is passionate about ensuring all students have access to high-quality instruction and the tools they need to thrive.
